Operations Manager for Port Agency, Gdansk

We are expanding our Port Agency with a new office in Poland and are looking for an Operations Manager who, together with the team, will act as the customer's extended arm and coordinate a wide range of different activities in connection with all types of vessel calls.

If you can maintain a clear overview in a busy workday, bring structure to tasks, set the right priorities, deliver results, and have the necessary industry experience, you could become the new colleague to our skilled agents in the Port Agency department, who provide 24/7 one-point-of-contact services.

An Opportunity for Challenge and Development
You will coordinate the department’s port calls and operations in Gdansk and other polish ports. Additionally, the job involves customer relationship management, requiring good communication and continuous follow-up. We are therefore looking for a candidate who is eager to take on a wide range of challenges as our activities evolve. Your primary tasks will include:

  • Responsibility for daily operations in Poland
  • Planning and participation in day-to-day operations
  • Procurement of services, spare parts, and provisions for vessels
  • Project estimation and monthly closing
  • Participation in client relationship management

Your Personality Matters
We expect our new colleague to have a shipping-related background. A few years of experience in a similar position is essential. We're looking for someone eager to optimize and deliver results— and with a commercial mindset, strong communication skills, and a drive to succeed, even if it means taking initiative in unfamiliar situations and solving new problems. Therefore, it’s important that you:

  • Are educated in shipping or a related field
  • Have experience coordinating port calls and operations
  • Are fluent in English, and preferably German
  • Are experienced and skilled in project management
  • Are proficient users of MS Office and quick to learn new IT systems

Focus on Your Development
At Blue Water, we have an informal environment with room to grow. We strive to be a great workplace that focuses on development and well-being. We offer our unique BWS Academy setup, providing courses in areas like project management, transport law, and chartering. You will also benefit from daily sparring and collaboration with experienced colleagues and leaders. You will get:

  • Employment in an informal company culture we are proud of and protect
  • Responsibility and challenges
  • A strong community focused on teamwork and team spirit
  • An exciting daily routine with varied tasks
  • Full-time employment
